A multi-storey car park in the heart of Chatham now offers family-friendly parking bays.

We have installed eight parent and child parking spaces in The Brook car park for those visiting Medway’s city centre with children.

The wider parking bays, which are close to the lifts on the second and third floors, make it easier for families with young children to visit Chatham.

The bays have been installed in The Brook car park as it is close to two theatres popular with families and the town centre’s shops, as well as a nearby riverside walk and Chatham Community Hub.

Making it easier for families to visit Chatham

Cllr Phil Filmer, Medway Council’s Portfolio Holder for Frontline Services, said: “We hope the new dedicated parent and child parking bays will make it easier for families to visit Chatham, Medway’s city centre. The new bays also support our aspiration for Medway to become a child-friendly city, putting children and young people at the heart of everything we do.”

More improvement works planned

Medway Council’s Portfolio Holder for Resources, Cllr Adrian Gulvin, said: “The Brook multi-storey car park is in a fantastic location, leading into the Pentagon shopping centre and a short walk from Chatham’s two theatres. We have more improvement works planned for The Brook, including new lighting and flooring in the public stairwells.”
