Celebrate vast achievements of young people

Rose Stokes, Chair of Medway Youth Council, said: “The Medway Youth Council is proud to support the amazing work of Medway Youth Awards. It is important to stand in solidarity and celebrate the vast achievements of young people. It has been great to see so many people nominated and I know there are plenty more who deserve the awards. This shows anything is possible if you put your mind to it, no matter your age or circumstances.”

Striving to make Medway even more child-friendly

Cllr Josie Iles, Medway Council’s Lead Member for Children’s Services: “The Medway Youth Awards celebrate the fantastic achievements of our children and young people and it is incredibly important that we recognise the great work that they do. We are constantly striving to make Medway an even more child-friendly place to live, work, learn and visit and the awards showcase some brilliant examples of how our children and young people are engaging with their communities. Congratulations to all of the winners of this year’s Medway Youth Awards, and to everyone who was nominated. We have heard some truly inspirational stories and I was delighted to celebrate their successes with them.”

Young people are at the heart of everything we do

Cllr Martin Potter, Medway Council’s Portfolio Holder for Education and Schools, and Child-Friendly Champion, said: “I was delighted to celebrate with Medway’s children and young people at the Medway Youth Awards. Children and young people are at the heart of everything we do, this is perhaps best represented by our continued commitment to youth services and our dedicated Child-Friendly initiatives, like our City Hall events, where we have created a platform for our young residents to share their views and help shape Medway’s future. I would like to say congratulations again to all of our winners and thank you to everyone who helped organise such a fantastic event.”
