We’re working with partner agencies to let people sleeping rough know that emergency provision is currently available in Medway.

Emergency provision is being provided for people sleeping rough in Medway as temperatures are expected to drop to freezing or below tonight Tuesday, 14 March.

This emergency provision is in addition to the support and housing options we offer to people sleeping rough in Medway all year round.

The severe weather emergency protocol (SWEP) is in place in Medway on:

  • Tuesday, 14 March

People sleeping rough are encouraged to call Kingsley House in Gillingham, on 01634 333600 or Freephone 0808 1641444 before 5pm today to access support.

People sleeping rough, who are unable to call during the day, can still access emergency provision through our out-of-hours homelessness service. The out-of-hours service can be contacted, when the severe weather emergency protocol (SWEP) is in place, on 01634 304400.

Our housing team and partner agencies in the Homelessness Forum are helping to spread the message to as many people sleeping rough as possible to get them off of the streets and into the warm.

If you are aware of someone sleeping rough in Medway please report them to us so we can offer them our support.

Help is available all year round

We offer year-round support to residents who are at risk of homelessness as well as those with nowhere to live.

Our outreach team continues to work closely with people found sleeping rough in Medway.
