A theatre in Medway’s city centre has been named as Bose Professional’s European Centre of Excellence.

The Central Theatre in Chatham has partnered with Bose Professional and is now the showcase site for local and global partners.

Bose Professional has given the theatre staff technical masterclasses and will provide training to local budding sound technicians from colleges and community groups across Medway.

As part of the partnership, a new state-of-the-art speaker system was installed at the theatre last year.

On Wednesday, 14 June Bose Professional invited more than 50 audio visual industry experts to the theatre to showcase their new line of amplifiers and a new portable speaker.

Supporting talented creatives

Cllr Harinder Mahil, Medway Council’s Portfolio Holder for Heritage, Culture and Leisure, said: “We are incredibly proud that The Central Theatre has been made Bose Professional’s European Centre of Excellence. This partnership also supports Medway’s cultural strategy, delivered by Creative Medway, and aim for the area, and our residents, to be internationally recognised for creativity and culture by 2030. We are committed to supporting Medway’s talented creatives in any way we can, from nurturing new talent to ensuring established creatives are supported to continue to thrive, and this partnership will provide unique new opportunities to do so.

“The Central Theatre is a beautiful venue where residents and families can make memories which last a lifetime. I would encourage residents to find out more about the wide range of shows on offer by visiting MedwayTicketsLive.co.uk.”

Our partnership with Bose Professional will also help create unique opportunities for Medway’s children and young people, which supports our aspiration to make Medway even more child-friendly.
