Child-Friendly Medway’s fifth City Hall event saw more than 160 of Medway’s young people and their parents and carers come together at the Rochester Corn Exchange.
The latest City Hall took place on Thursday, 25 May with Cllr Vince Maple, Leader of Medway Council, and Richard Hicks, Medway Council's new Chief Executive, taking part in a Q&A session.
During the session, one of Medway’s young residents told them that there was broken glass near the football pitch in their local park, which stopped them from playing there. Cllr Maple and Richard Hicks both said they would get this cleared as soon as possible.
The next day the Child-Friendly Medway team contacted the Greenspaces team who arranged for colleagues at Medway Norse to clear the glass away. Our litter teams are at parks every day ensuring they are clean and safe for all residents to use. Find out how to report litter online.
The City Hall events are co-funded by the Home Office’s Safer Streets Fund, which was secured by the Kent and Police Crime Commissioner last year.
