We are delighted that the Lionesses have reached the final of the FIFA Women’s World Cup for the first time in their history.

Many residents across Medway will be watching the final on Sunday at home with their family and friends but we know that many people will want to come together and watch the match at their local pub or bar.

On Sunday, 20 August, Medway’s licensed premises which are not normally able to serve alcohol between 10am and 2pm will be allowed to do so if they are showing the FIFA Women’s World Cup final.

We hope all residents have a good and safe time supporting the Lionesses and are wishing them good luck! If you are planning on drinking alcohol, please drink responsibly.

Message for licence holders: any businesses which are planning to open and serve alcohol are expected to do so responsibly, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of their staff and customers. They should also ensure that they do not cause a nuisance to neighbouring residents and businesses. Enforcement action may still be taken if any issues occur.

Good luck to the Lionesses!
