Motorists are advised that highways improvements and essential road repairs and maintenance are due to take place on Four Elms Hill, Chattenden and Main Road, Chattenden later this month.
Four Elms Hill, Chattenden
The footpath and cycle path improvements to the A228 Four Elms Hill, around the junction of Beacon Hill Lane, are due to resume on Saturday, 21 October and expected to finish on Sunday, 29 October.
To help minimise disruption, these works will be taking place during the October half-term.
To enable to works to be carried out safely one lane on approach to Beacon Hill Lane will need to be closed at all times for the duration of the works.
Beacon Hill Lane will also be closed during the day when works are taking place.
Main Road, Chattenden
Works are also due be taking place between Four Elms Hill Roundabout and Main Road Roundabout from Monday, 30 October to Friday, 3 November. To help minimise disruption, these works will be taking place overnight.
Essential repair and maintenance work will be carried out on the approach to the pedestrian crossings, and road repairs will be made to the carriageway by the junction of Beacon Hill Lane.
On Monday, 30 October and Tuesday, 31 October, the westbound carriageway will be fully closed from 10pm to 11.45pm, 12midnight to 12.45am and 1.45am to 3.15am, it will be open between these times for waiting vehicles to pass.
To enable works to be carried out safely, lane closures on both the westbound and eastbound carriageways will be in place from 8pm to 6am on Wednesday, 1 November, Thursday, 2 November and Friday, 3 November.
