Housing association, Moat, has launched 27 new three-bedroom houses for social rent in Rainham, all of which will soon be occupied.

The homes at Kershaw Grove have been delivered with the help of a financial contribution from us of almost £800,000 and will provide much needed affordable housing to local families.

On 29 November, we joined developers McCullochs and members of Moat, as Steve Nunn, Executive Director Growth at Moat, officially launched the scheme.

Built by McCullochs, Kershaw Grove is the second phase of this development, with the first larger phase, Beaulieu Park, completing in 2021. The development has a contemporary design with green space, located a short walk from the railway station and Riverside Park.

Moat also has 34 shared ownership homes on Beaulieu Park as part of the wider development. Approval for Kershaw Grove was received in 2021, thanks to joint funding with the council.

Attractive, safe and sustainable homes

Genuinely affordable housing

Cllr Naushabah Khan, Medway Council’s Portfolio Holder for Housing and Property, said: “I am really pleased that we have been able to deliver these new, affordable homes for Medway residents in partnership with Moat. We are committed to providing genuinely affordable housing in Medway for our residents. It is fantastic that people will shortly be moving in, and I would like to wish the new residents the very best with their new home.”
