The Medway Family Hub app, a new, free mobile phone app, has been launched to provide support and advice to families across Medway.
The app brings together a wealth of resources and information into one place to make it easier for families living in Medway to access help, support and advice.
It is aimed at all families, whether they are expecting, new parents or already raising children, and offers tailored information based on individual circumstances and needs.
The app allows local residents to find out about local events and activities and will also allow families in Medway to connect with each other and build their support network.
The Medway Family Hub app includes resources to help support children’s learning and development. It also has direct links to local services, making it easier to find the right help when needed, as well as information on health and wellbeing for the whole family.
You can download the app by clicking here from your mobile phone, or by searching for ‘Medway Family Hub’ in the app store on your Apple device, or in the Play Store if you have an android device.
The information on the app can also be accessed here.
Welcome to Medway
The second Welcome to Medway event will also be taking place at the Gillingham Children and Family Hub on Thursday, 30 May. Running from 10am – 1pm, there will be free activities for children of all ages as well as an opportunity for Medway’s families to get to know each other, expand their support networks and find out all about the support and services on offer in the area.
The first Welcome to Medway event was held in Chatham earlier this year, and there are plans to bring it to both the Strood and Wayfield & Rainham Children and Family Hubs later this year.
More information about the Gillingham Welcome to Medway event can be found on the Medway Family Hub Facebook page.
Making it easier
Cllr Adam Price, Medway Council’s Portfolio Holder for Children’s Services, said: “I am really pleased to see the launch of the Medway Family Hub app, making it easier for families across Medway to get the support they need. Our Children and Family Hubs already provide a fantastic in-person service, and our hope is that this app builds upon this and opens the door to even more people being able to access support, be aware of the events and activities taking place and expand their support network.
“It is also really exciting to see the Welcome to Medway event make its way to Gillingham. I was at the first event in Chatham, and it was great to see so many families come down. If you’re interested in finding out more about what Medway has to offer, or want to meet other local people and expand your support network, I would encourage you to join us at the end of this month!”
