We are proud to be part of Fair Tax Week 2024, which runs from Sunday, 9 June to Sunday, 16 June.
Fair Tax Week is run by the Fair Tax Foundation and aims to raise awareness about the importance of responsible tax conduct and financial transparency.
We are one of almost 60 Fair Tax Councils in the UK, and declared our commitment to support the Fair Tax Mark in July 2023.
The Fair Tax Mark encourages organisations to lead by example and do the right thing in their own tax affairs, requiring greater transparency from suppliers. Organisations involved consider a company’s ethics and how they pay their tax, as well as value for money and quality of services provided, when awarding contracts to companies – it is the gold standard of responsible tax conduct.
Proud to support
Phil Watts, Chief Operating Officer at Medway Council, said: “We are proud to support Fair Tax Week and to be a fair tax council. It is important we lead by example through demonstrating continued good practice in our own tax conduct, and help to raise awareness of the importance of all companies paying their fair share.”
So important
Mary Patel, Movement Building and Outreach Manager, Fair Tax Foundation, said: “Tax is so important when considered against the huge array of public services it helps support. Fair Tax Week is the perfect opportunity to celebrate councils like Medway Council who are proud to stand up for responsible tax conduct.”
