Residents are invited to an open information evening this November where they can ask their questions and find out the latest news from the Council’s leaders.
The latest instalment of Medway Matters Live will be held in Chatham at The Historic Dockyard on Tuesday, 12 November from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
At the event, residents will have the opportunity to hear directly from Leader Cllr Vince Maple and Chief Executive Richard Hicks and have the chance to directly ask their own questions.
The evening will be hosted by the award-winning former BBC South East broadcast journalist and Medway resident, Rob Smith.
Rob will kickstart proceedings, before Vince and Richard update residents on some of the Council’s key projects and priorities and talk about the Council’s vision and what the future holds for Medway. The audience will then have their chance to put their questions to both Vince and Richard.
A number of council services will also have information stalls the event, so residents will have the opportunity to find out more about them and the help and support on offer.
We get to hear directly from you
Cllr Vince Maple, Leader of Medway Council, said: “I am really looking forward to our next Medway Matters Live event. It was disappointing that we had to cancel the one we had planned for June in Hoo due to the pre-election period restrictions. However, we are already working on plans for next year’s events and we are looking at holding our first event in 2025 in Hoo.
“These Medway Matters Live events are a brilliant way to for us to keep residents updated with the latest news from the council and to see a number of stands highlighting the wide range of services available, but most importantly we get to hear directly from you. We saw how much interest there is in local issues from the first event earlier this year, and we want to hold these throughout Medway so as many people as possible have the chance to come along.”
We hope to see as many of you as possible
Richard Hicks, Chief Executive of Medway Council, said: “We are delighted to be holding our second Medway Matters Live at The Historic Dockyard Chatham. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the closure of the Dockyard, and during that time it has been transformed into an iconic destination for residents and for visitors to Medway, as well as a home for residents and businesses. It remains one of the jewels in Medway’s crown, so being able to hold this event at such an impressive location is fantastic.
"We had great attendance at our first Medway Matters Live event and a number of important issues were discussed, so we hope to see as many of you as possible at the Dockyard Church in Chatham this November.”
Medway Matters Live is free to attend, but booking is essential.
