As the glitz, glam and glitter of Strictly Come Dancing sweeps across the country once again, vibrant Medway is set to sparkle too as it hosts the International Dance Festival 2024.
From Sunday, 29 September to Wednesday, 2 October, Medway Park will play host to some of the world’s finest Latin and Ballroom dancers.
With a huge number of entries from across the world and broad age categories, spectators are in for plenty of excitement with doors opening at 6am and closing at 2am.
Unique and amazing international event
Cllr Nina Gurung, Portfolio Holder for Heritage, Culture and Leisure, said: “It is really exciting to have this prestigious global competition return to our wonderful Medway towns to use Medway Park’s world class facilities once again! It was a brilliant and vibrant event last year, and whether you’re a huge fan of Ballroom and Latin dancing or a secret Strictly fan – it’s a chance for both our residents and visitors to Medway to see a unique and amazing international event!”
Tickets are being sold by the event organisers and cost £40. They can be bought on the door, however, seating is limited and can’t be guaranteed.
The majority of the winners of the age category events will be crowned at Medway Park over the course of the event.
The top 50 couples from the Latin and Ballroom professional and amateur open events, as well as the top 14 couples from the Smooth professional open, will be heading to The Royal Albert Hall for the grand finals on Thursday, 3 October.
You can find the full event timetable and information on the International Dance Festival’s website.
