Medway Council will be on hand at a national regeneration conference to show off the best of Medway and attract future investment.

The UK’s Real Estate Investment and Infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF) takes place next week from Tuesday 20 May to Thursday 22 May, drawing businesses and industry experts together for three days in Leeds.

Medway Council representatives will be there alongside colleagues from Kent County Council and Locate in Kent, to tell conference attendees about regeneration across the region, and explain how Medway and Kent are great places to invest in future development.

It will be an opportunity to provide national exposure for innovative Medway projects such as Chatham Creative Quarters, the initiative which re-envisions Chatham as four connected areas - Intra, town centre, Dockyard and maritime areas of Chatham, linking them as sites of creative ambition and new business growth.

Our staff will also be able to talk about how more than £9million of investment from the Future High Street Fund is helping to transform Chatham through regeneration projects such as The Paddock town centre gardens, The James Williams Healthy Living Centre, the renovation of St John’s Church, and much more.

With more than 14,000 businesses and an economy worth £6.7billion, Medway is the largest conurbation between London and continental Europe, and has excellent transport links to both. Just 35 minutes from London on the High Speed 1 (HS1) rail link, Medway also has brilliant motorway links making it a gateway site between the capital, the rest of Kent and the continent.

Anyone visiting the conference should make a stop at our Medway Council stall, and find out how Medway is a great place to live, work, learn and visit – and invest in.

An opportunity to inspire

Cllr Harinder Mahil, Portfolio Holder for Economic and Social Regeneration and Inward Investment, said: “The UKREiiF conference is a great opportunity for teams from around the country, and I hope that it prompts some exciting conversations about future regeneration plans. There’s so much going on in Medway, and it’s going to be great opportunity to meet some inspirational teams and tell everyone about the great work going on here.”

In addition to Medway's exciting projects, Kent County Council and Locate in Kent will be showcasing the region's broader investment opportunities, including Canterbury's hotel and tourism-led development, Ashford's commercial pipeline, and Dartford's industrial growth corridors.

Attendees can learn more about these opportunities and more in the new Kent and Medway investment prospectus which outlines the potential for growth and development across the county. For more information, visit https://www.locateinkent.com/investment-opportunities-ukreiif-2025

Leading the way for growth

Nick Fenton, CEO Locate in Kent, said: “We’re delighted to be joining Medway Council, Kent County Council and the Thames Estuary Growth Board at UKREiiF 2025 to showcase why Kent and Medway is the place in the UK to invest. This will be a great opportunity to help investors and businesses to seize opportunities to grow in the region.

“Together, we’ll be sharing updates on some exciting projects coming through and how Kent and Medway can lead the way for UK growth thanks to our strategic location as a county, the talent pool we have here and the potential for job creation in the years ahead. Medway will be key to driving that success – in areas including logistics, defence and the creative industries."
