Residents could be in with a chance of winning up to £1,000 just for binning their rubbish.
We have teamed up with LitterLotto to help fight littering on Medway’s streets.
To enter the weekly prize draw, all you need to do is take a photograph of the litter and throw it away in a public bin using the LitterLotto app.
You will be entered into the weekly £1,000 UK draw, and the monthly £100 Medway draw.
There is no limit on the number of entries you can make – you will receive a prize draw entry for each item you bin. You will also receive extra entries if you are throwing away dog poo!
Keep Medway clean and tidy
Cllr Alex Paterson, Medway Council’s Portfolio Holder for Community Safety, Highways and Enforcement, said: “Our teams work really hard throughout the year to help keep Medway clean and tidy. There are also loads of volunteers in Medway who regularly go on litter picks too, and we know that most of us tidy up after ourselves and it’s a small minority who spoil it for the rest of us.
“This new initiative is a great way to offer a bit of an incentive and reward for people who are already doing the right thing, and our hope is it can also change the behaviour of those who do litter. So, the next time you see a bit of litter on the street, snap a picture of you popping it in one of our public bins using the app, and you could be one of the lucky winners – you’ve got to bin it to win it!”
The LitterLotto app can be downloaded from the Play Store on Android and Apple Store on iPhone.
Prizes can only be paid out to those who are aged 18-years-old and over. You can find out more information about LitterLotto, including its privacy policy, on its website.
