Medway Adult Education is inviting residents to enjoy the fun of creativity and learning at its summer fayre.

Everyone is welcome to join in the fun on Saturday, 21 June at the MAE Rochester Community Hub and Library from 11am to 3pm.

The free-to-attend event promises something for everyone with a packed programme of events.

You can try your hand at heritage arts and crafts including woodworking, sewing, mural making and more – offering you a unique opportunity to explore traditional skills and creative techniques.

Families can also enjoy traditional games perfect for all ages, including a coconut shy, tombolas, hook a duck and more! You will also be able to take advantage of free entry to Eastgate House, one of Medway’s most treasured historic landmarks.

There will also be plenty of entertainment on offer, including the Medway Adult Education choir, DJs from the Sunlight Centre and more to be announced soon.

A number of other council services and partners will also be attending the event with information stalls where you can find out more about them, including Child-Friendly Medway, Medway Libraries, Amazing Minds, Medway Parents and Carers Forum and more.

Supporting lifelong learning

Cllr Tracy Coombs, Medway Council’s Portfolio Holder for Education, said: “We are strong supporters of lifelong learning in Medway. As well as being a great family day out, this event will give people an idea of just some of the amazing courses on offer at Medway Adult Education. So, make sure you save the date and join us with your friends and family, and who knows, you may discover your next passion whilst you are there!”

Food and drink will be available at the event, provided by Jaspers, and everyone who attends will get one free soft drink.
