Consultation has begun on Medway’s new Housing Allocations Policy.
The policy sets out Medway Council’s criteria and procedures for allocating social housing, and covers who can join the housing register, known as Homechoice.
Consultation has already been held with housing associations, supported housing providers, current Medway Council tenants, and council teams such as Children’s Social Care and Public Health.
Residents across Medway now have their chance to comment on the new policy by 1 September, before a final draft is formally adopted by the council.
You can comment online and there will be drop-in sessions at libraries to help people complete the consultation.
Note: the policy does not address building or buying new properties, which is covered by our Local Plan or the Housing Strategy.
