Child-Friendly Medway has launched the ‘Young Citizens Awards’ to recognise and celebrate children and young people who have done something outstanding, made a difference in their school or community, or have overcome challenges.
Who could be nominated
Children and young people from year 3 to the end of year 6 (7 to 11 year olds) can be nominated.
Nominations could come from:
- themselves
- other pupils
- friends
- parents or carers
- community members
- school staff.
A Medway Young Citizen could be a child or young person who:
- raises money for charity
- is a Young Carer
- organises a litter pick
- plants more flowers and trees
- is passionate about climate change
- volunteers
- cares for animals
- is an anti-bully ambassador
- shares their skills with others
- has done something anything else needs recognising.

Submissions will be reviewed by the Child-friendly Medway team.
Certificates will be shared termly with the child or young person for community nominations.
