Child-Friendly Medway has launched the ‘Young Citizens Awards’ to recognise and celebrate children and young people who have done something outstanding, made a difference in their school or community, or have overcome challenges.

Who could be nominated

Children and young people from year 3 to the end of year 6 (7 to 11 year olds) can be nominated.

Nominations could come from:

  • themselves
  • other pupils
  • friends
  • parents or carers
  • community members
  • school staff.

A Medway Young Citizen could be a child or young person who:

  • raises money for charity
  • is a Young Carer
  • organises a litter pick
  • plants more flowers and trees
  • is passionate about climate change
  • volunteers
  • cares for animals
  • is an anti-bully ambassador
  • shares their skills with others
  • has done something anything else needs recognising.

Submissions will be reviewed by the Child-friendly Medway team.

Certificates will be shared termly with the child or young person for community nominations.
