Walking is free, fun and good for the mind and body - it's also a great way to socialise.
We run free health walks throughout Medway so you get all the benefits in friendly, supportive groups.
Volunteers run all our health walks and there may not always be a walk leader available.

Grades explained
Grade 1: Ready, Steady, Walk - class-based session designed for people that have limited mobility and would like to be able to progress to join the graded walking groups. Focus will be on building strength and balance in a friendly and supportive environment. The sessions are part of a lifestyle changing course to help you with the social enjoyment, understanding and how walking in the fresh air can be the start of a new journey for you and your wellbeing. Contact 01634 333 720 for future locations and times.
Grade 2: Walk In The Park - Social walks suitable for people who are already walking short distances and feel ready to progress further. We use the local green spaces that have a flat terrain and are suitable for those using mobility aids. The walks are circular, self-paced and offer rest stops for those that need them. These walks will give participants the opportunity to progress to the next level of walks that are in excess of 30 minutes.
Grade 2: Suitable for people who are already walking short distances of up to a mile. These walks also offer the opportunity to join our walk in the park program. Most walks can be up to 60 minutes with around 45 minutes of walking time and will focus on the social and physical benefits of creating a regular walking lifestyle change. The walks try to avoid any steps and slopes will be taken in manageable stages.
Grade 3: Suitable for people who walk regular for up to an hour. Grade 2 walks focus on building walking time and fitness. Walks will be around 60 minutes and may include some moderate slopes, steps and uneven surfaces.
Grade 4: Suitable for walkers who are interested in walking for their health. Walks are around 75 minutes and generally just over 3 miles. Walks will include slopes and less rest stops than the normal grade 3 walks.
Grade 5: Suitable for people looking for more challenging walks. Walks are 90 minutes of walking time and will include slopes that will be challenging, including some wintery mud sections. The walks may also be at a slightly quicker pace than usual.
