Notice of the commencement of the period for the exercise of public rights
The Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015

The Accounts and Audit (Amendment) Regulations 2022
The council is required pursuant to Regulation 16 (1) of the Accounts and Audit (Amendment) Regulations 2015 to publish a statement on its website:
- that the audit has been concluded
- that the Statement of Accounts has been published
- of the rights of inspection conferred in local government electors by section 25 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 and the address at which, and the hours during which, those rights may be exercised.
However, our auditors, Grant Thornton UK LLP, have not been able to formally conclude the audit and issue an audit certificate for Medway Council for the year ended 31 March 2025 in accordance with the requirements of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 and the Code of Audit Practice, until the National Audit Office has concluded their work in respect of Whole of Government Accounts (WGA) for the year ended 31 March 2025.
However, they have advised the council that the audit of the council’s financial statements for the year ending 31 March 2025 has been completed.
