Using the online account, you can:

  • check your up-to-date business rates account information
  • go paperless by signing up for e-billing 
  • set up a Direct Debit
  • view, download and print bills.

To sign up for a Business Rates Online account, you must first have a Medway business rates account. Find out how to register for business rates.

To sign up, you’ll need to enter the name of the person or business that the business rates bill or recovery notice is addressed to and the payment reference number (also known as account number). Find these details on your business rates bill.

How to register for business rates

You’ll need to register for business rates with us if your business premises is in Medway.

If you've received a business rates bill, you're already registered for business rates.

If you have not received a bill, you'll need to register by emailing rates@medway.gov.uk with the:

  • business name
  • business address
  • date the business leased or purchased the premises
  • date the business started to occupy the premises.

This will help us to deal with your enquiry more efficiently.
