Neighbourhood plans under development in Medway
Arches (Chatham) Neighbourhood Plan
Arches (Chatham) applied to Medway Council to start preparing a neighbourhood plan by applying for designation of a neighbourhood forum and neighbourhood area.
Following a 6-week public consultation during July and August 2019, both items were approved at the Cabinet meeting on 6 August 2019.
Arches (Chatham) Neighbourhood Planning Forum have now completed their Regulation 14 Consultation period which ran from 26 February 2021 to 7 May 2021. The group are preparing their next round of consultation on their neighbourhood plan and we continue to support the group through this process.

Hoo St Werburgh and Chattenden Neighbourhood Plan
Hoo St Werburgh Parish Council have proposed a neighbourhood area for its parish, for the purpose of preparing a neighbourhood plan.
We consulted on this proposal. The consultation closed at 5pm on Friday 23 November 2018. No reasons for objecting to the designation were raised.
We formalised the designation of the neighbourhood area at the December 2018 Cabinet meeting.
Hoo St Werburgh Neighbourhood Plan group continue to consult on its plan proposals, and anticipate holding their Regulation 14 consultation in 2021. Medway Council is supporting the group with mapping and development data to support their evidence base and are liaising with the group to provide comments to their draft plan proposals.

High Halstow Neighbourhood Plan
High Halstow Parish Council applied to start the process of preparing a neighbourhood plan. The first stage was to formally approve the designation of the parish as a neighbourhood area which was approved at our Cabinet meeting on 12 June 2018.
High Halstow Parish Council have prepared a draft plan and are carrying out a Regulation 14 consultation until 27 September 2021. For details on the consultation events taking place and to view the neighbourhood planning document visit the High Halstow Parish website.
Cliffe and Cliffe Woods Neighbourhood Plan
Cliffe and Cliffe Woods Parish Council applied to Medway Council to start the process of preparing a neighbourhood plan. The first stage was to formally approve the designation of the parish as a neighbourhood area which was approved at our Cabinet meeting on 16 June 2015. Since the designation of the area Medway Council has been working with the parish council to progress the plan.
Cliffe and Cliffe Woods Parish Council have approved the submission of the neighbourhood plan for the designated area in the parish council boundary. They will now formally submit their draft neighbourhood plan as part of their Regulation 15 submission.
