Neighbourhood plans under development in Medway

Cliffe and Cliffe Woods Neighbourhood Plan

Cliffe and Cliffe Woods Parish Council have submitted its draft neighbourhood plan to Medway Council to progress to examination and referendum.

A Regulation 16 Consultation closed on Friday 20 May 2022. The parish are now moving forward to independent examination. An examiner has been appointed to:

  • review the draft neighbourhood plan
  • consider any changes and recommendations. 

This will happen before progressing to referendum.

Frindsbury Extra Neighbourhood Area Designation

Frindsbury Extra Parish Council applied to Medway Council to designate the parish as a neighbourhood area to prepare a neighbourhood plan.

The designation of a neighbourhood area covering the parish of Frindsbury Extra has now been confirmed.

We are now supporting the parish in the next stages of the planning process. 

Arches (Chatham) Neighbourhood Plan

Arches (Chatham) applied to Medway Council to start preparing a neighbourhood plan by applying for designation of a neighbourhood forum and neighbourhood area.

Following a 6-week public consultation during July and August 2019, both items were approved at the Cabinet meeting on 6 August 2019.

Arches (Chatham) Neighbourhood Planning Forum held their Regulation 14 Consultation on their draft neighbourhood plan that ended on Tuesday 28 June 2022.

Following the Regulation 14 Consultation, the planning group are now moving forward with their Regulation 16 Consultation on their plan.

We are continuing to support the group in their progression of their plan.

Hoo St Werburgh and Chattenden Neighbourhood Plan

The Parish of Hoo St Werburg was designated as a neighbourhood area at the December 2018 Cabinet meeting.

Hoo St Werburgh and Chattenden Neighbourhood Plan group is working towards a Regulation 14 consultation.

High Halstow Neighbourhood Plan

The parish of High Halstow was designated as a neighbourhood area at our Cabinet meeting on 12 June 2018

High Halstow Parish Council have carried out a Regulation 14 consultation on its draft plan and associated design code.
