Fly-posters usually advertise events with posters, flyers or stickers that are put up without the permission of the property owner. Fly-posting is a criminal offence.
The visual impact can be considerable and detracts from the local environment. It mainly affects the high traffic routes into and out of Medway.
The removal of fly posting and potential fines are contained within the following legislation:
- Town and Country Planning Act 1990
- Anti-Social Behaviour Act 2003: Section 43
- Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005
- Highways Act 1980: Section 132
