Stage 1: Submit an expression of interest

The High Street Heritage Action Zone (HSHAZ) grant scheme is funded by Historic England. We are the lead partner and responsible for its administration.

We'll assess applications on a first come, first served basis. Not all applications will be successful.

The expression of interest application form must be completed and accompanied by any supporting information relevant to the proposal.

We'll assess expressions of interest against the grant criteria for eligible works. Information submitted may be checked by site visits from us or architects.

What happens next

Once we've received your application, we'll send you a confirmation email.

You will be contacted within 2 weeks for an informal chat about your expression of interest and a possible site visit.

If your project is not eligible, then we'll explain the reasons for this. We'll also let you know what actions you could take to make your expression of interest eligible.

If your project is eligible, then help will be provided to enable your expression of interest to be developed to the stage where you can make a full grant offer.
