Passport to Leisure

A Passport to Leisure card makes sport and leisure more accessible to a wider group of people who live in Medway.

It gives them and their dependants reduced prices or free access to some facilities in Medway at certain times.

The card costs £3.10 a year.

Apply for a Passport to Leisure card

You can apply online if you're applying for:

  • yourself
  • a non-earning dependent that lives with you

If you're applying on behalf of somebody in your care, you might need to complete this application online on their behalf. You'll have to do this if you:

  • are employed as their carer
  • work in a care home where the applicant lives
  • are applying on behalf of someone on probation.

Before you start you'll need the following:

Eligibility proof

You must provide proof of receiving:

  • Disability Living Allowance
  • Employment and Support Allowance
  • Income Support
  • Personal Independence Payment
  • Severe Disablement Allowance
  • available to care experienced young people up to the age of 25. Please contact your allocated worker within Medway Council for more information.

Identity proof

Valid options for proof of identity include:

  • passport
  • driving licence
  • ID card.

Address proof

If you're applying for a dependant who is aged over 16-years-old, you will need to upload proof they live at the same address as you.

Valid options for proof of address include:

  • Council Tax bill
  • utility bill
  • bank statement.

Documents we do not accept include:

  • vehicle documentation
  • private landlord tenancy agreements. 

Proof of address must be in the dependant's name and dated in the past 3 months.

You will also need your card details to make your payment.

What happens next

After you’ve applied, we’ll let you know by email if your application is successful or not.

When you go to the leisure centre to collect your card, please take a passport sized photograph so it can be attached to the card.

If you'd like you play tennis as an activity on this scheme, email membership.support@medway.gov.uk with your Passport to Leisure card number.

  • Gym: £4.50 
  • Swim: £1.40 
  • Racquet Sports: £1.40 
  • Tennis (two court bookings per week): £1.40
  • Induction: £12.30 

Tennis

Reduce cost tennis is now available at The Strand and Maidstone Road tennis courts. Once you have received your Passport to Leisure card, email medway.sport@medway.gov.uk for a link to set this up.
