Medway Libraries are celebrating Sarah Forbes Bonetta this Black History Month.

There will be a range of events and workshops running for children and families to get involved in.

Poetry workshop

Join British-Iranian poet Setareh Ebrahimi for a free poetry workshop inspired by the life of Sarah Forbes Bonetta, an African Princess, and the protégée of Queen Victoria.

The workshop will take place at Gillingham Community Hub on Thursday 6 October from 7pm to 8.30pm.

African Drum workshops

Children, aged 4 to 10 years, can also celebrate Sarah Forbes Bonetta, and her talent for music, by creating an African drum.
