Partnerships for Inclusion of Neurodiversity in Schools (PINS)

What PINS does

PINS is a national programme that is working in Medway.

The partnership runs between:

  • Medway Council
  • the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB)
  • the Medway Parents and Carers Forum (MCPF).

PINS helps primary settings support neurodiverse pupils.

The partnership help schools to:

  • shape their special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) provisions
  • provide early interventions
  • train school staff
  • build partnerships with parents and carers.

How PINS supports your child

PINS aims to make a long term difference in education settings by:

  • having professionals from across services support schools and meet children's needs
  • training school staff to better understand and support neurodiverse children
  • adapting education environments so all children feel safe and included.

Having the right environment will support neurodivergent children and help them achieve their potential.

PINS also encourages schools to:

  • build staff knowledge and confidence
  • make changes that benefit all children.

The programme is focusing on building relationships between education settings and families. This is to achieve strong and trustworthy partnerships.

Schools working with PINS

Since 2024, 35 schools have been working with PINS.
