Children's welfare

Early help
Early help offers a range of support services to families. We offer assessments, helplines and development plans to make sure every child is able to thrive and grow safely.

Special educational needs (SEN)
Young people up to the age of 25 with SEN are offered further assistance. We offer services such as travel assistance, sports groups and classes.

Adoption and looked after children
A 'looked after child’ is in the care of the local council, living with their extended family or foster parents, or in a residential home. They're also referred to as children in care. Children can be adopted away from care and become a legal member of their new adoptive family.
