There are many ways you can take action to help tackle the climate emergency.
Here you can find information on:
- Green School Awards 2021
- Ways to help
- Medway community groups and partnerships
- Volunteering for the walking bus
Nominate your school for the Green School Awards 2021.
If your school has been doing some great work for the environment, we want to hear from you. Examples of some of the projects we would like to hear about are:
- building a greenhouse out of soft drink bottles
- organising a litter pick
- encouraging the local area to recycle
- starting an energy saving programme at school.
Any project, no matter how big, will have a huge impact on our planet.
To nominate your school, visit the Green School Awards webpage.
We champion small changes. If everyone makes some small changes, accepts responsibility and takes action, we can all be part of the solution. Visit Kent's year of green action page for some great examples of small changes you can make.
Your carbon footprint is the amount of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere because of your daily activities.
You can calculate your carbon footprint and find out what you can do to lower your carbon impact on the WWF website.
If you're a Medway community group or partnership with a long term aim to tackle the climate emergency, we'd love to hear from you.
We’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
There are over 30 walking bus routes across Medway. There are more than 500 children already taking part and you can join in too.
It’s a really simple and flexible programme that parents and carers can take part in to suit their personal circumstances, just like they would with a regular bus service.
Each walking bus route needs a walk driver and walk conductor.
We want to help get more of Medway’s children walking and are looking for friendly parents and adults to volunteer to join the scheme.
