We offer a variety of bookable sessions for young people aged 11 to 17.

Due to coronavirus (COVID-19) we have limited spaces for all programmes. You must book online in advance and follow social distancing guidance.

We will be following all government guidelines and may have to close sessions if restrictions change.

BeYou Project

Porchlight are now running it’s BeYou project at our centres.

The project offers information, advice and support for LGBT+ young people aged 13 to 18. There are weekly meet ups at 4 Medway Youth Centres.

These are safe spaces that anyone who thinks they might be LGBT+ can come along to.

You can meet new people who share some of the same feelings and experiences as you, socialise and just hang out in a safe and non-judgemental setting.

Parkwood Youth Centre

Parkwood Green Shopping Centre, Parkwood, Gillingham, Kent, ME8 9PN.

6pm to 7.30pm

Poke-battles and various Pokémon and anime themed games and activities.

6.30pm to 8.30pm

What are we doing? You decide!

Strood Youth Centre

Montfort Road, Strood, Rochester, Kent, ME2 3ET.

6.30pm to 8.00pm

Offering a wide variety of art and craft activities including:

  • drawing
  • painting
  • textile designs.

There is also an opportunity to do an Arts Award.

6pm to 7pm

For all levels of experience to get active and build new skills.

7pm to 8pm

A fun activity to learn about gardening and taking care of plants.

7pm to 8.30pm

For all levels. A fun and exciting activity.

2pm to 3.30pm and 3.30pm to 5pm

You must complete your online booking before midday on the Friday before you would like to attend.

Woodlands Youth Centre

Gillingham Children and Family Hub, Woodlands Road, Gillingham, Kent, ME7 2BX.

6.30pm to 8pm

We talk about your favourite artists, albums, and songs. We also take part in finding out about what other people like to listen to.

There will be opportunities to use the music studio to play, sing and record.

You can also join the session online.

6.30pm to 8pm

For young people with additional needs.

There will be a variety of activities on offer during the session with a break for distanced social interaction.

The planned activities will include:

  • online games
  • cooking
  • art.

6.30pm to 8pm

Offering a wide variety of art and craft activities including:

  • drawing

WREC room

Level 1, Pentagon Shopping Centre Chatham, ME4 4BB.

4pm to 5.30pm

Opportunity to learn new skills as well as develop existing ones. Learn to prepare new and exciting dishes.

1pm to 3pm

For young people interested in role-play type games. Young people will have the chance to:

  • share their love of gaming
  • meet new people
  • inform future gaming sessions within the club.

Employability programme

We run a free employability programme for young people aged 16 to 21 (up to 25 with additional needs). 

To be eligible you must not be in:

  • employment
  • education
  • training.

The course offers:

  • CV writing support
  • interviewing techniques
  • job searching support.
