Darrell Hawkins is a Medway born and bred artist and musician. He specialises in bold, bright and contemporary paintings fusing abstract and figurative elements, with much of his work being a celebratory ode to Medway.

His pride in the Medway towns is a current which runs through all his work, so he is honoured to be creating this artwork for Strood as part of the Welcome art project.

His aim is to create an engaging, colourful and above all meaningful piece of artwork for residents in, and visitors to, Strood.

The work will reflect his passion for the area and will aim to inspire pride in locals by capturing and marking this exciting period of growth and development that we see taking place throughout the Medway towns.

Location

You can see the artwork in Strood town centre near Strood Post Office.
