Celebrating Strood and Rainham town centres, we commissioned 8 local artists to create an outdoor gallery of temporary artworks in the town centres.
These artworks celebrated everything that makes the town centres special and welcoming places for people to live, work and visit.
Creatabot
Creatabot was founded by Natasha Steer. It aimed to make creativity and culture accessible to all with a focus on health and wellbeing.
For the Welcome launch day, Creatabot invited people in Rainham and Strood to create collages, sketches and artworks inspired by people and places within these towns.
Two critical friends were appointed to help support the artists, as well as a graphic designer to create the logo and marketing materials for the project.
Texts and emails are great but a phone call from someone you love is always welcome. Who Would Welcome a Call? invited viewers to take action through a display of people’s memories.
An engaging, colourful and above all meaningful piece of artwork for residents in and visitors to Strood. It welcomed you to reflect on Darrell’s passion for the area.
This opportunity was funded by The Welcome Back Fund from the European Regional Development Fund, and administered by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG).
The objective for this funding was to create and promote a safe environment for local trade and tourism, particularly in high streets, as economies continued to cope with the effects of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
