Gillingham market and Rochester Farmers’ market will be returning in July.

Strood market will not be reopening.

Gillingham market

From Monday 6 July and Saturday 11 July the weekly Gillingham market will be returning to the high street. Initially there will be around 16 of the regular traders offering a wide range of products including:

  • fruit and veg
  • Caribbean and Indian street food
  • men’s, women’s and kids’ fashion/accessories
  • household goods

The experience will be slightly different with the market stalls more spaced out throughout the High Street to allow for social distancing. There may be queue controls at popular stalls and hand sanitiser will be available. Additional support staff will also be on hand to assist.

Rochester Farmers' market

The Rochester Farmers’ market is returning to the Blue Boar Lane car park from Sunday 19 July and thereafter each third Sunday of the month. There will be 10 to 12 traders offering a range of fresh, local produce including meat, veg, plants, coffee, preserves, bread and game.

There will be a one way pedestrian system in place and a separate entry and exit point which will be signed. There may be queue controls at popular stalls and hand sanitiser will be available on the stalls and at the market entry and exit points. Additional support staff will also be on hand to assist.

The traders look forward to welcoming you back to the Gillingham and Rochester Farmers’ markets in the coming weeks and ask that you allow a little extra time for your shopping due to the new measures in place.
