You can now book a trip to the tip with just 12 hours’ notice.

Medway residents can visit Household Waste and Recycling Centres (HWRCs) in Capstone, Hoath Way and Cuxton for free, but they must book an appointment.

A booking system was introduced in May 2020 during government coronavirus restrictions, and has stayed in place to help manage ongoing demand and reduce visiting times for customers.

Medway Council has now reduced the booking lead time from 48 hours to just 12 hours, meaning residents can dispose of their unwanted items quicker.

Cllr Phil Filmer, Medway Council’s portfolio holder covering waste, said: “Medway residents benefit from a fantastic waste collection and disposal team, and I am pleased residents can now book a trip to a Medway tip for the next day.

“Thank you to everyone who continues to consciously recycle and sensibly dispose of their waste. Together, we are committed to helping keep Medway clean and tidy.”
