Booking your visit

For essential use only

Our household waste and recycling centres (HWRCs) at Capstone and Hoath Way are open for essential use only. You’ll only have a legitimate reason to visit if storing your waste is causing a risk of injury, health or harm.

The Cuxton site will be kept closed in the early phase of reopening our sites due to the high demand we’re expecting. This is because traffic queuing for the Cuxton site at peak periods has had a severe impact on the A228 and other local roads.

How to book your visit

You'll need to book a slot every time you want to attend and dispose of household waste. Slots will be limited. You'll only be able to book one slot per month. Each booking entitles you to one trip to the site only within your specified booking slot.

This aims to:

  • keep you and our staff on site safe
  • ensure fair access for all
  • reduce the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19)
  • reduce impact on the road network

If you do not book, we will not allow you to enter the site and staff will turn you away.

Due to the high level of demand, this service is very busy. You may be placed in a queue to help manage this and protect the website. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. We’ll be adding new slots daily.

You may be frustrated by the new systems in place, but we ask for your patience as they’re for everyone’s safety. Site staff will not tolerate abuse. You should read the full site rules before you book your slot.

To book your visit you'll need to provide your:

  • name, address and email address
  • vehicle make, model, colour and registration

Once you have supplied this information, you'll be able to book a day and time slot from the calendar.

Book online

It's quicker to book your slot online.

Book online

After you’ve booked online, you’ll receive an email confirming the:

  • date of booking and time slot
  • booking reference number
  • site you'll be visiting

Please keep this confirmation email, as you'll need to bring it with you when you visit the site.

Each time you book a visit, you'll need to wait 25 days from your visit date to book another.

Book by phone

If you do not have an email address (which is used to confirm online booking details) or the internet, you can phone us to make a booking:

When you can visit

Capstone and Hoath Way sites are open from 10am to 2pm, and 3pm to 7pm.

You can visit at any time during your booked slot. You should stagger your visit and especially avoid opening times. This is to help us manage traffic flow. If you miss your slot our staff may turn you away.

Changing or cancelling your booking

Once you've booked your slot, you will not be able to cancel or amend your booking. This means you'll need to wait for 25 days after your booked visit before you can book your next visit.
