One of Medway’s biggest community sporting events will take place in two weeks.

This year’s Medway Mile will take place on Friday, 21 July, in and around Medway Park in Gillingham.

Children’s races will take place on the athletics track at Medway Park alongside the popular mascot race and competitive track races, organised by Medway and Maidstone Athletics Club.

The medals for the children’s races are sponsored by the council’s Child-Friendly Medway team.

Sports activities, taster sessions, family entertainment and refreshments will be on offer from 5pm on Friday, 21 July.

Don’t worry if you haven’t registered to take part in the Mass Medway Mile yet – there’s still time. Pre-register to guarantee your free souvenir T-shirt.

Don't miss out!

Cllr Harinder Mahil, Medway Council’s Portfolio Holder for Heritage, Culture and Leisure, said: “We’re looking forward to cheering on thousands of residents at this year’s Medway Mile. Those taking part can run, jog or walk the course. With plenty of fun activities for the whole family to enjoy, don’t miss out – register today.”

The Medway Mile also supports Medway’s aspiration to become even more child-friendly by creating more opportunities for the area’s children and young people.
