Signs of Youth design activity for Earth Day
In celebration of Earth Day in April, we're relaunching Signs of Youth.
We're inviting children and young people of all ages and creative abilities to submit a drawing that could be turned into an aluminium sign and displayed permanently somewhere in Medway.
The drawing must be based around our Child-friendly Medway core value 'cleaner and greener' and based around one of our 6 key environmental themes:
- littering
- dog fouling
- recycling
- car idling
- plant more flowers and trees
- take care of the wildlife.
Who can take part
Any child or young person can take part. We welcome:
- schools
- home-schooled children
- young people
- youth groups
- scout groups.
How to get involved
To get involved email childfriendly@medway.gov.uk to receive your Signs of Youth worksheet which you can print and start working on your design.
We recommend using felt tip pens to make the design as colourful and bright as possible.
Submit your designs by 9am on 31 August 2025.
You can submit your design either by:
- emailing it to childfriendly@medway.gov.uk
- posting it to Gun Wharf, Dock Road, Chatham, ME4 4TR
- taking a photo of your design and tagging Child-friendly Medway in the
picture on Facebook, X or Instagram using #CFMsignsofyouth.
Shortlisted designs will be selected by the Child-friendly Medway team and made into aluminium
