About our garden waste subscription service

The way we collect garden waste has changed.

You can still present one brown wheeled bin or 2 brown bags of garden waste each week for free. No additional bins or bags will be collected.

If you need to present more than this, you can subscribe to our optional garden waste service.

From 1 April 2026, you can subscribe for up to 3 additional brown bins per eligible property. Every additional bin will have its own permit, which must be displayed for collection.

The subscription agreement starts from 1 April 2026 and ends 31 March 2027. A standard £40 fee is charged for all subscriptions within this period regardless of your start date.

Any additional bins without a permit will not be collected and may be removed.

You'll still be able to take all additional garden waste free of charge to any of our household waste and recycling sites or use a home composter

Eligibility

This service will only be for streets assessed as suitable for the use of wheeled bins.

Residents in flats will also be able to opt in to this service. They can apply for an individual brown bin if they have a private garden that they maintain.

The landlord, management agent or resident group will be able to subscribe for one brown bin on behalf of their development.

This service cannot be used by:

  • private gardeners
  • grounds maintenance companies
  • management agencies carrying our gardening or clearance works.

Cost

Each additional brown bin subscription costs £40.

You'll need to pay this in full when you place your order.
