About our garden waste subscription service
The way we collect garden waste has changed.
Kerbside properties will still be able to present one wheeled bin or 2 brown bags of garden waste every week for free collection. However from 2 June 2025, any additional bins or bags of garden waste will no longer be collected.
If you regularly present more than one wheeled bin, a new opt in kerbside garden waste subscription service has been introduced.
You'll need a permit to have a second brown bin at your kerbside property or to set up a garden waste collection at your flat development.
If you do not have a valid permit, the second bin will not be collected and could be removed.
You'll still be able to take all additional garden waste free of charge to any of our household waste and recycling sites or use a home composter.
Eligibility
This service will only be for streets assessed as suitable for the use of wheeled bins.
Residents in flats will also be able to opt in to this service. They can apply for an individual brown bin if they have a private garden that they maintain.
The landlord, management agent or resident group will be able to subscribe for one brown bin on behalf of their development.
Cost
A subscription for a second brown bin or first brown bin for a flat costs £40.
You'll need to pay this in full when you place your order.
