When you book you'll be able to choose from these slots:

Vehicle access

You can use a privately-owned car, which is defined as a passenger carrying vehicle under 2 metres in height with 9 seats or less, to take household waste to our recycling centre. 

You can book to take a small, privately-owned van to Capstone recycling centre.

Check the list of permitted vehicles.

Vehicles not permitted

Vehicles may be turned away from the centre if they: 

  • are business or commercial vehicles, such as transit vans or open-back vans 
  • are sign written (apart from taxis)

Cars with trailers will be turned away if they:

  • are longer than 6 feet 8 inches
  • are wider than the towing car
  • hold more than 35 cubic feet

For safety, you may be asked to unhitch your trailer and park in the bay next to it.

Your small van will be turned away if:

  • you have not booked to come to the site
  • it is towing a trailer
  • the van and its contents weigh more than 2 tonnes
