About us

The Strand Lido and Leisure Park is a popular destination for visitors, full of great things to do including:

  • summer outdoor pool
  • river walks
  • cafe
  • play park areas.

The Strand lido pool is not artificially heated and is a saltwater pool.

It was opened in 1896 and is the only remaining riverside tidal saltwater pool in the country.

 

 

 

Outdoor lido pool dates and opening times

The Strand Lido will open on weekends from 25 May 2024. During the summer holidays 2024 it will be open 7 days a week.

The following sessions will be running:

  • session 1: 10.30am to 1.30pm
  • session 2: 2.30pm to 5.30pm.

You must prebook a session online before you arrive.

The Strand Leisure Park has:

  • disabled access
  • disabled parking
  • disabled changing facilities
  • disabled toilets
  • disabled social areas.

For The Strand lido pool, you may bring one carer free to support your swim. Please provide evidence on entry if you are registered disabled.

If you have mobility issues, there are gradual stepped entrances with hand rails to the pool. Before booking, we suggest a site visit when we are open to check your accessibility.

Parking charges apply from 7am to 1am at The Strand and costs: 

  • £1.80 for up to 1 hour
  • £2.30 for 1 to 2 hours
  • £3.30 for 2 to 4 hours
  • £4.30 for 4 to 6 hours 
  • £6 for over 6 hours.

You can pay by cash or using the Ringo app for online cashless payments (prices correct at time of latest update, but subject to annual change).
