Register supported housing

This page is for new or existing supported housing providers looking to provide supported accommodation in areas under the Supported Housing Improvement Programme (SHIP).

To register supported housing, you'll need to complete our online form.

Before you start

To use our form, you'll need to tell us:

  • whether you're a new or existing supported housing provider
  • which area you're looking to provide supported housing in
  • your company details, including name and address
  • whether you have already procured a property
  • details about the property, including address, area and rooms available
  • how your company has worked towards the Government’s National Statement of Expectations for Supported Housing.

You'll also need to tell us: 

  • details of any accreditation or bench-marking schemes your company has taken part in
  • details about the tenancy, including rent costs and whether tenants can view the room before moving in
  • details about your staff
  • details about your scheme, including referral process and support offered
  • eviction details
  • your contact details.


You'll need to upload the following documentation:

  • a copy of the lease or proof of purchase, including price paid and confirmation if you negotiated a lower price
  • evidence showing your assessment of the local need for supported housing and planning of this
  • a breakdown of the annual running costs of the property
  • a copy of the tenanacy or licence agreement
  • a breakdown of rent costs
  • evidence of staffing, including job descriptions, salaries and structure.

Our form will also ask you to upload:

  • a blank support needs assessment form
  • evidence of how support will be funded
  • a copy of your scheme referral form
  • quality assurance or service improvement policy or procedures
  • safeguarding policies or procedures
  • evidence of your eviction process
  • information about other costs, for example gas safety certifications and decorating.

Register supported housing

You should register for a Medway Council online account and sign in before filling in this form. This means you can save your progress, leave your application at any stage, and continue from where you left off when you return.

If you do not have an online account and leave this form for more than 30 minutes, your information will be cleared for security reasons. You will need to start the form again.
