If you owe rent
If we provide you with permanent accommodation, you would normally be able to bid for properties through the Homechoice Scheme.
If you owe over 10 weeks of rent and are not reducing this debt, you will not be offered any property that you may have successfully made a bid for.
You could also be evicted if you owe rent.
If you are evicted you:
- could be found intentionally homeless and we will no longer have a duty to house you and you will have to find your own accommodation
- will have your priority re-banded to a lower band on the Homechoice register
- will still have to pay the rent that you owe and we may seek to recover the debt in County Court. If you get a County Court Judgement against your name, your credit rating will be affected
