Adult LADO (Local Authority Designated Officer)

The Adult LADO allegation management process addresses concerns that come to the attention of the authority that may call into question a person’s suitability to work with adults at risk in a paid or voluntary capacity. Examples of such concerns could include allegations that relate to a person who works in Medway with adults with care and support needs who has:

  • behaved in a way that has harmed, or may have harmed an adult or child
  • possibly committed a criminal offence against, or related to, an adult or child
  • behaved towards an adult or child in a way that indicates they may pose a risk of harm to adults with care and support needs

If such concerns are raised in the person’s work environment then a safeguarding referral should be made using the Safeguarding Alert Form above.  If, however, the concern is not related to the person’s normal place of work, then an Adult LADO referral should be made using this form.

If your concerns relate to someone who works in any capacity with children then you should refer to the Children’s LADO service.
