Rochester

Rochester is the historic heart of Medway and the town is lined with traditional, boutique and specialist shops. There are also a wide range of traditional, modern and international restaurants and bistros that visitors enjoy.

Many tourists come from all over the world to visit Rochester’s architectural and historical sites including Rochester Cathedral and Castle, the Guildhall Museum and the newly restored Eastgate House. It’s not surprising that tourists stream to the area to enjoy the Dickens Festival and view the buildings and high-street that Charles Dickens set many of his novels in.

Rochester’s award winning farmers’ market is also held monthly and offers quality, handmade gifts and local produce including  fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, bread, cheese and chutney, all served by friendly stallholders.
