Change or renew your licence

The holder of approval named on the licence will need to let Medway Register Office know in writing if there are changes to:

  • the layout of the venue from the original plan given in the approved licence application
  • the use of the premises
  • the name or full address of the approved premises
  • the description of the room(s) that are licensed for ceremonies
  • the name or address of the holder of approval
  • the name, address or suitability of the responsible person.

To make the changes write to: The Proper Officer, Medway Register Office, Northgate, Rochester, Kent, ME1 1LS.

Renew your licence

No ceremonies can be held at the venue if the licence has expired.

You must request a renewal at least 3 months (but no more than 12 months) before the current licence expires.

To renew the licence, you must follow the new application process and pay the same fees.

Since 2 December 2019, all non-religious venue licenses allow you to hold same and opposite sex ceremonies.
