Generative AI
Generative AI (such as ChatGPT, Copilot, Bard, and DALL-E) are a class of AI techniques that generate new content.
For example:
- images
- music
- text
- videos.
They use patterns and examples they learn from existing data.
It involves training models to understand the underlying structure and characteristics of a dataset and then using that knowledge to create new, original, content.
Generative AI techniques have gained attention and advancement in recent years, mainly because of the development of deep learning and neural networks.
These networks are machine learning models that are designed to mimic the structure and function of the human brain’s neural networks.
Generative AI has the potential to help with:
- creative processes
- automating content generation
- data augmentation.
However, ethical considerations, such as the potential for misuse or the generation of misleading information must be carefully addressed as generative AI use grows.
Our generative AI use must only be used as a support for staff.
All AI generated content must be reviewed and verified by a member of our staff before being used in any council materials.
