How to apply for homelessness support

To apply for homelessness support, you’ll need to tell us about:

  • if you're already homeless or when you'll become homeless
  • you and your family, including name, address, date of birth and contact information
  • you and your partner's employment and income information
  • you and your family's welfare and safety, including any concerns
  • your living conditions
  • any medical needs.

We will record these details for a homelessness officer to review.

Make a homelessness application

You can make a homelessness application by phone:

  • Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm - 01634 333 600
  • Out of hours, weekends and bank holidays - 01634 304 400.

Only use our out of hours number if your situation is urgent and you have nowhere to stay tonight. You'll usually need to make another call during work hours to follow up with more details.

If you need a different way to speak with us

If you have difficulties speaking to us on the phone we can:

  • arrange appointments in person
  • book interpreters for foreign language speakers of users of British Sign Language (BSL)
  • work with you to find the best way of contact.

Users of British Sign Language can contact us using BSL interpreter video calls
