Request a food hygiene rescore
If you have made changes to your food hygiene practices after your last food safety inspection you can request a visit to re-inspect your premises.
Your food hygiene rating score could stay the same or go or down.
You can apply for a rescore as many times as you want.
You’ll need to pay £202.90 each time your request a rescore.
Before you start
You must only request a rescore if you have made the necessary improvements since your food hygiene inspection. If you have not made improvements your rating score will stay the same.
You can request a rescore online. You’ll need:
- business trading name and address
- last inspection date and details
- current food hygiene rating
- details and evidence of changes you have made
- contact details
- payment for the inspection and cardholder details.
You can also upload photographs of the improvements you have made.

What happens next
Once we've received your request and payment, we'll carry out an unannounced visit within 3 months.
Your rating may go up, down, or stay the same.
