Appeal a food hygiene rating
You can appeal a food hygiene rating if you’re a business owner or manager and you feel that your rating is unfair or wrong.
You can appeal within 21 days of the rating been given.
How to appeal
You can appeal a rating by using our online form.
You'll need to tell us:
- your details as the business owner or manager, including your name and contact details
- the business' name and address
- the details of the inspection you received
- your reasons for appealing.
What happens next
We'll confirm we have received your appeal within 7 days by email.
The lead officer for food will review your rating and confirm the outcome, by email, within 21 days.
