  • Debenhams.

Brook Theatre

Medway’s iconic Grade II listed theatre is set to temporarily close its curtains while it undergoes major improvements.

Thanks to government funding, the Brook Theatre will undergo a number of improvements to improve the experience for theatregoers. This includes better accessibility, staging and lighting, while also supporting performers and local arts groups with a state-of-the-art workspace.

To complete the works, including any structural improvements that may need to be carried out, the theatre will be closing from Sunday 2 April 2023.

Find out more about the planned improvements.

St John's Church

We are running a free open day event for people to have a look at the refurbishment plans for St John's Church.

Find out more and come along to the St John's Church open day.

Medway Development Company projects

This includes:

  • Garrison Point
  • Chatham Waterfront
  • Mountbatten House.

Chatham Waterfront

Great progress is being made at Medway’s flagship Chatham Waterfront development.

In early March 2023, partners and council representatives had an exclusive look around Chatham Waterfront.

Situated in the heart of the town centre, the development is set to be completed in 2024 by Medway Development Company.

Construction work on the 5 residential blocks is progressing well through the site contractor, Claritas.

The 2-bedroom show apartment is now available for viewings. The benefits include:

  • awe-inspiring views of the River Medway
  • every home is energy efficient
  • walking distance to excellent bus and train services
  • close proximity to Chatham High Street
  • First Homes discount is available on all phase 1 units.

The mixed use scheme is key to revitalising the area, providing new housing along with co-working spaces, excellent places to eat and drink, and shops.
